Description
Springhouse provides full service appraisal management services for purpose of origination/default valuations. This position reports directly to the Manager of Valuation.
Springhouse Appraisal Management, a division of Altisource™, is an intermediary that uses a nationwide panel of certified and licensed appraisers to expedite multiple real estate appraisal requests. This outsourcing of the appraisal process insulates our clients from any questions concerning appraiser selection and influence. There are several other areas of benefit that are inherent in using Springhouse appraisal services. Our clients reduce overhead costs by eliminating fixed expenses associated with in-house real estate appraisal procurement. Springhouse AMC offers clients a competitive advantage in an increasingly challenging mortgage-lending industry.
Responsibilities include: * Maintain a working knowledge of all current underwriting guidelines, USPAP and appraisal investor guidelines, federal and state lending laws and have the ability to comprehensively explain all to others within and outside the organization. * Interpret client underwriting requests and appeals. * Review original appraisal documents for noted deficiencies. * Perform required analysis of property appraisal to ensure subject properties meet the client’s appraisal criteria. * Communicate with appraisers and third party vendors in regards to specific underwriting requests and ensure requests are delivered back to clients in a timely manner. * Prepare exception tracker report. * Effectively communicate any areas of concern with an appraisal to management and Customer Service Representatives.
Key Result Areas: * Meet or exceed productivity standard for revision requests per day. * Maintain 90% of revisions turned around within 24 hrs.
Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of two years experience in residential mortgage/residential appraisal loan underwriting and/or auditing. The ideal candidate must:
* Be familiar with US mortgage products and guidelines and a working knowledge of automated underwriting system. * Be familiar with the appraisal process, completed 15 hour USPAP course from accredited provider. (this can be attained on the job) * Have well developed oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. * Be detail oriented and organized. * Be proficient in Microsoft applications and open to learning and applying new software applications quickly. * Bachelor's degree preferred.
