JobDescription:

Working with external consultants and internal support functions, this is an amazing opportunity to lead the development, planning, construction and operation of the first urban market and food emporium for Compass Group North America in the country. We will be opening early spring 2012 in a prime location in the Central West End of St. Louis, a hip and trendy residential shopping and dining Mecca. We will uniquely blend an urban market with restaurant, wine bar, catering and special event services for our guests. We will celebrate life through fresh, creative, seasonal foods, inspiring wines and microbrews and welcoming hospitality.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this position is ultimately responsible for bringing the vision to life through day to day operations. In this role you will manage and lead a seasoned team of culinary and hospitality professionals. You will be responsible for managing client and customer relations, along with ensuring that the food and services offered to all our customers are of superior quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

- Concept and brand development. Work with the corporate support team and external consultants to develop the final concept and brand. Continually evaluate brand and concept to ensure success.
- Menu development. Work with your Executive Chef and corporate culinary team to create and update menus on a seasonal basis.
- Product selection and placement. Work with the corporate support team and external consultants to select appropriate retail products and merchandise appropriately.
- Strategically market services to potential customers, local residents and businesses to achieve revenue targets
- Recruit, hire and develop a team of culinary and hospitality professionals
- With the support of local project manager, ensure construction is timely and on budget
- Deliver financial results. Accurately budget, project and articulate results in timely manner.
- Maintain excellent relationships with customers, guests and Client as well as other departments. Community stewardship is essential.

Qualifications:

- Retail grocery experience a plus
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in hospitality industry

- Proactive approach to anticipate and support changes in our business
- Able to balance multiple priorities successfully, while maintaining composure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable levering technology to support all aspects of the business
- Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
- Previous experience with concept and menu development
- Proven results in growing retail concepts and/or restaurants
- Bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience
