Psych Tech-Float Pool Hyland Behavioral Health Department: Float Pool HBH B Schedule: PRN Shift: Varied Shifts Hours: varied Job Details: * The Psychiatric Nurse Aid is an integral member of the psychiatric treatment team and is responsible for rendering direct care to his/her assigned patients. The direct care provided includes basic nursing support skills and therapeutic interactions as indicated in the patient's individualized treatment plan. The Psychiatric Nurse Aid also provides crisis intervention as necessary for those patients in acute situations. The Psychiatric Nurse Aide should be in good physical condition and exhibit emotional maturity. This person should display a well groomed appearance, have a pleasing manner, be dependable, cooperative, and dedicated to quality.
High school graduate or equivalency. Experience in providing direct patient care/ADL's
Education Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or other related field. Experience in working with the psychiatric patient, chemically dependent patient, and other related fields where interpersonal skills are utilized. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic nursing support skills after completing appropriate orientation. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of good therapeutic communication techniques. Able to work with group setting and/or is familiar with group techniques. Demonstrates the ability to function as an effective team member. Has knowledge and skills relevant to assessment, needs, and treatment specific to ages of assigned client population.
