Georgia-Pacific is recruiting a Production Supervisor for our packaging box plant in Mt. Olive, IL.
The successful candidate will be self driven with a passion for excellence in safety, manufacturing, and customer focus. Areas of responsibility will be in the corrugator department and roll stock management with a focus on safety, quality, production, waste and housekeeping.
Additional responsibilities will be to:
o Ensure all employees are working in a safe manner
o Ensure that minimum quality expectations are followed and met on a daily basis
o Ensure the best practices are being followed for minimization of waste at
machine centers
o Track continuous improvement opportunities where performance issues are
apparent and provide leadership/action plans for gap closure
o Ensure strict adherence to plant safety, housekeeping, and 6S efforts
o Identify repairs needed at machine centers and create work requests for
completion; follow up as required
o Demonstrate the ability to plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production
employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in
resolving complaints and issues; hold employees accountable as needed;
communicate issues and results on a daily basis.
Basic Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent required
o Bachelors degree is preferred
o Minimum of 5 years experience working within a manufacturing, production or
industrial environment, packaging industry preferred.
o Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with a manufacturing, production
or industrial environment.
o Available to work shift work and overtime as needed
