Job Title: Operator 1
General Purpose of Job: Assemble complete or specific portions of products using hand tools and production machines. Upon completion may measure and test products.
Reports to: Production Team leader, Lead Operator or Process Team Leader Direct Reports: None
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assemble products by cutting and bending wires, etching, spotwelding, crimping, stamping, marking, soldering, polishing, brazing, staking, grinding, trimming, connecting connectors, inserting misc. items, kitting, etc. * Finish product to make sure it meets all quality standards and looks good. * Prepare products by sanding, sand blasting, chemical cleaning, wiping, etc. * Test products for proper electrical performance, proper dimensions, etc. * Keep area and equipment clean and organized. * Rework non-conforming materials, products, parts, etc, to create a finished product * Check and fill out necessary reports, manufacturing orders, designs routings, scrap, production times, rejects, etc. * Works under direct supervision on standardized duties and tasks using established procedures or written instructions. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* High school education or equivalent required. * Ability to use production equipment, hand tools, testing devises and other miscellaneous equipment and tools. * Resolves routine questions and problems and applies basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment in appropriate area of specialization. * Good math, measurement and written/verbal comprehension skills. * Good analytical and problem solving skills. * Understanding manufacturing orders, routings, special chances and other miscellaneous forms. * Familiar with MacPac and various other system packages as needed. * Familiar with stockroom and inventory procedures so necessary parts and materials can be obtained. * Good planning and organizational skills. * Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with all organization levels. * Demonstrated understanding and ability to use TQMS tools and techniques. * Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.
