We are looking for candidates to fill a Junior Underwriter position. This position is responsible for underwriting life and health insurance applications subject to a maximum approval/declination of $10,000, within approved timeliness, productivity and accuracy standards and adhering to contract provisions, company policies and legal requirements.
Responsibilities: * Underwrite new applications, reinstatement requests, and policy increases. * Review medical exams, lab reports, requirement responses, and inspections. * Read and interpret attending physician's statements, determine the degree of impairment and, in accordance with company guidelines, determine proper disposition of the application. * Communicate thru written and phone correspondence with district managers and agents to resolve inquiries. * Accurately handle other duties as assigned including completing activity reports. Job Requirements :
Qualifications and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent. * 1-3 years general work experience. * Excellent verbal, written, and report writing skills. * Successful completion or actively pursuing LOMA I and II is desired. * At least 1 year as an Underwriting Assistant or similar field is desired. * Good computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and Access is desired.
