Position Summary:
The Data Warehouse Mining Specialist is responsible for guiding the technical efforts of the team, including consulting resources. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the best technical approach and practices are applied in all phases of the application lifecycle. This person will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of code produced by their team members and consulting resources.
The primary responsibilities of a Data Warehouse Mining Specialist include: * Application Development * Application Technical Design * Development (coding) * Assist with determination of project time and resource requirements * Oversight of Application Quality * Unit Testing * Specification Reviews * Design Reviews * Code Reviews * Team liaison to QA * Technical Guidance/Support for team members * Training * Resource for technical questions * Application Promotion Support * Builds * Coordination of promotion resources * Act as technical representative of team to other business units Help with candidate interviews
The necessary skill sets to comply with the above include: * Strong command in the following technical areas * Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 * Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services * Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services * Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services * Microsoft .Net and C# * Microsoft ASP.NET * Good understanding of Business Intelligence concepts * At least 4-5 years of experience in the business intelligence * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience * Thorough understanding of all applications for which the team is responsible * At least one year experience working on the team or with the applications supported by the team * Thorough understanding of the technologies employed by the applications for which the team is responsible * A demonstrated record of high quality * A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment * Demonstrated leadership abilities
