Business Unit Controller-Pharma
This position directs the accounting, financial reporting and business planning of the Sensient Colors- Pharma business unit, and is responsible for safeguarding the unit’s assets and the accurate reporting of financial results. This position is also responsible for ensuring exceptional service is provided to both internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that the business unit is managed in a manner that is compliant with Sensient Color Group accounting practices and policies. Knowledgeable regarding local accounting requirements as well as United States GAAP.
Ensure that required reports and forecasts are executed in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with Company requirements.
Serve as a key member of the business unit management team.
Provide effective financial and business unit analysis to support decision-making within the business unit.
Understand, implement and maintain standard costing practices, which are aligned with Sensient Color group methodology.
Direct, at the business unit level, the preparation of the annual business plan, ensuring that it effectively rolls-up to the Color group level.
Manage and direct the relevant finance and accounting staff personnel.
Develop, approve, and monitor local accounting controls.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MBA preferred.
Certified Public Accountant designation.
Seven to twelve years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, with experience as a business unit controller in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive involvement in budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting and inventory valuation.
Demonstrated ability to influence and impact Business Unit General Manager, especially on decisions that impact current and future profitability.
Demonstrated ability to handle both strategic and tactical assignments.
Self-starter with the ability to identify and proactively resolve business issues.
